BOVs Will Not Be Required to Include Faculty Members
The Daily Press (Hampton Roads) reported in February that a Senate panel rejected
legislation that would have required the governing boards of Virginia's public
colleges and universities to seat professors as nonvoting members. The House of
Delegates had passed the bill earlier, according to the article. Currently, colleges
and universities have the option to seat faculty on their boards.
