Avoid the Flu Blues

Last chance to get your flu shots on campus. Student Health Services is offering flu shots on the Fairfax Campus on Monday, Nov. 2, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Johnson Center, Room 116, and on the Arlington Campus on Thursday, Nov. 5, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the top of the escalators. Administered by Student Health Services staff members, the vaccines are available for a cost of $10 for students; $15 for faculty and staff. Student Health Services asks that vaccine recipients wear short sleeves. Anyone who is allergic to eggs should not receive the vaccine. For more information, call x32831.

Old Town Hall Lecture Series Features Carter

John Carter, Admissions, is the next speaker scheduled for the Old Town Hall Lecture Series. He will speak on "The Civil War Through the Eyes of William Cowan McClennan" on Wednesday, Nov. 18, at 7:30 p.m. The lecture series is presented by George Mason University and the City of Fairfax, and is open to the public. All lectures take place at Old Town Hall, on the corner of University Drive and Main Street in the City of Fairfax.

Save Your Soup Labels

The George Mason University Child Development Center is asking students, faculty, and staff, as well as the community, for their support in collecting Campbell's product labels and other proofs of purchase for the Labels for Education drive. By redeeming these labels, the Child Development Center can earn free educational materials and athletic equipment, such as audiovisual and playground equipment, computers, reference books, and even a minivan. Prince William Hosts Second Annual Freedom Race

It's not too late to register for the second annual Freedom and Aquatic Center 10K Race, to be held on the Prince William Campus on Saturday, Nov. 7, at 9 a.m. The race is cosponsored by Prince William County, the City of Manassas, the Prince William Park Authority, and George Mason. Race registration is $20. All proceeds go to the Play Foundation. For more information, call x38350.
