"In all things find wonder" - Valerie S.S. Taylor, Maryland Institute College of Art, Class of '92
The Institute of the Arts Art Gallery will present an exhibition entitled Alumni, Nine From the Maryland Institute College of Art, from October 9 until November 3. A reception on Wednesday, October 11 from 5 to 7 p.m. is open to all and will give participants the opportunity to meet and talk with the artists. The exhibition, curated and coordinated by Carla Heider Rosenzweig and Sharron Antholt of GMU's Studio Art Division, will be on display in the Fine Arts Building's Art Gallery.

Maryland Institute, were chosen from

Antholt's words, they found their work to be "exciting" and "promising for a
well-balanced exhibition."

Some of them use nontraditional materials to express their visions; others use traditional items in innovative ways to produce art that moves, makes sounds, or invites visual interaction.
Alumni explores the struggle of being an artist after leaving art school and the formal educational environment. It highlights artists who have discovered a way to continue making their art while still supporting themselves. The artists included in the exhibition are:
