Our Goal: Try to re-establish the GMU SHRM student organization to be recognize and to develop into an essential part of not only George Mason, but the national organization of SHRM.
Mission: The George Mason University Chapter of the Society of Human Resource Management is a promising organization dedicated to nurturing prime human resource students for careers in the human resources field. Our Chapter sponsors and co-sponsors career enhancing events.
Speakers share their expertise and provide students with personal as well as professional growth.experience. We are associated with NOVA SHRM where HR games are sponsored as a preparation tool for the Human Resource Professional Certificate.
Objectives: Trying to enhance potential HR members to be involve and understand the nature of HR by participating and understand the topics concerning HR. We use the national merit system to achieve these objectives, which I will show in full detail at our next meeting, and a local, individual student merit system, which again I will show in our next meeting. The points are there to achieve for yourselves to prove that your committed in the field of Human Resources. Here is the breakdown:
- Less than 25 pts.- probation or expulsion (depending on your graduation date)
- 25 pts for this current semester and 50 pts for the whole year- Still an eligible member of GMU SHRM.
- 75 pts or more- Eligible for a SHRM chord, which will be decided by the SHRM officers and advisors.
