The Administration of Justice Club will be hosting our second meeting of the year on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 in room G102 of the Eisenhower building. This is our Freshmen Orientation meeting where freshmen can take the opportunity to ask the club officers about what the club does and what you get out of joining! Just like last meeting we will be passing out applications and collecting dues, and we'll also be available to answer questions about the Administration of Justice program and professors. This meeting is also perfect for transfer students and for anyone that missed our meeting last week!
Thanks & see you today at 8pm in Eisenhower room G102!
September 22, 2008
For anyone who missed last Wednesday's meeting, the minutes are attached. They can also be found on our website (which is now updated! – http://www.gmu.edu/org/adjclub). For all information about ADJ Club visit the website and/or join us on Facebook (http://www.new.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2200249916).
A few important things:
Freshman Night:
Freshman Night is tomorrow (September 23rd) at 8pm in Eisenhower G102 (in the President's Park freshman housing area). YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A FRESHMAN TO ATTEND! This meeting is mainly geared for people who want to learn more about the ADJ club as well as the ADJ major itself, so while freshman and transfer students are encouraged to attend, everyone is most welcome. Ken Guerrant, the ADJ Career Advisor, will also be giving some tips.
Dues:
All Fall 2008 dues and applications for new and returning members are due by the end of our meeting on October 21st. New members need to fill out both the New Member Chapter form as well as the National application (the link from our website does work now) and submit a check for $36 for National's and $30 cash or check for chapter dues. Returning members should fill out the returning member form and submit $20 cash/check. See http://www.gmu.edu/org/adjclub/join for forms and info.
Co-Rec Flag Football:
We have put together a co-rec flag football team for the fall. There are still slots open on our roster so if anyone else is interested in participating please email us your name, G#, email address, and phone #. We currently have enough people to make up a team, so we will be playing, but it would be nice to have a few extra people incase someone can't make a game. Currently, I have the following names and you do not need to resend your info – just let me know if you are no longer interested: Wayne H., Emily J., Grant B., Will C., Jeff D., Christine I., Johnny P., Adrienne S., and Debbie N.
Career Panel Chalking:
We will be chalking around campus to advertise for our career panel and we're looking for some volunteers to help out. If you're interested please met us at the JC Info desk at 10am on Sunday, September 28th. Thanks for the help!
New T-Shirt Design:
We would like to get new t-shirts for this year that are a little more fun. The current suggestion is to put our Greek letters on the front (ΛΑΕ) with our ADJ club logo on the back. Let us know if you have any other ideas as we want this to be a shirt you can wear and not just one that gets lost at the bottom of your drawer!
Thanks!

Hey everyone, The time has come for the FIRST Criminal Justice Club meeting for the 08-09 academic year. Please set aside the following date: Wednesday September 17, 2008. We will be meeting at 7pm in Room A of the SUB1 building (please check our website at http://www.gmu.edu/org/adjclub/home.html for details or email us at adjclub@gmu.edu if you have any questions). We will be handing out applications for new members, collecting dues (for old & new members), discussing planned future events and taking suggestions for events for the spring semester.

The ADJ Club is a one-stop shop on helping you understand your major & future career. Besides it can't hurt to have it listed on your resume!!!
