Point Opportunities
This page will be updated whenever changes or new opportunities are made available.
Events are coordinated around central health issues such as AIDS/HIV, cancer, homelessness, and hunger targeting specifically populations of children and the elderly. AED is currently working on developing volunteer opportunities surrounding mental health so look forward to these events. If you may know of further areas and issue that AED can research for volunteer opportunities, please do not hesitate to contact the events coordinator, Tehmina Zarrin, of such requests at tzarrin@gmu.edu.
Dates of when the volunteer projects will occur are still in discussion with the organizations we will be partnering with, and once it has been finalized, these pages will be updated to reflect the changes.
Sign-up will occur during general body meetings and will be mostly restricted to a certain group size; therefore, it will be made available on a first come first serve basis. Some projects might need an interview and/or an application that the partner organization requires to be completed. Additionally, it is the student's responsibility to inform the events coordinator that he/she cannot make it 72 hours in advance of the event that he/she signed up for. Otherwise, in order to uphold the integrity of AED, points will be deducted for failure to show up.
