Board Meeting Sunday, August 28th , at 3:00 PM (instead of 4:30 PM) at the JC Information Desk. 2nd officer meeting: Sunday , September 1 1 th, at 9AM , Meet at JC INFO DESK. Member Meeting Tuesday, September 13th, at 5 PM at SUB II Room 1. Activities Saturday October 1st, 2005 AIDS Walk Fill out the ACTIVITY FORM by September 23,2005 at 11am. In addition to the filling out the activity form please read below: More Information: This walk serves to help raise money for the Whitman-Walker clinic to fight against HIV and AIDS. This particular event will earn you 5 points. To register for the event, please go to www.aidswalkwashington.org. Click on "Register Here," select "Join A Team," and choose " George Mason University ." Please fill out the short registration form. There is no registration fee, however participants are asked to donate $5 for an Aids Walk t-shirt. The t-shirts feature the various organizations, which will be participating, including ours! All are responsible for registering for themselves, so please do so AS SOON AS POSSIBLE once you have made the decision to participate. All are required to meet at Freedom Plaza located on Pennsylvania Avenue NW between 13th and 14th St. in Washington , DC . If you are taking the metro, take Federal Triangle (Orange/Blue Lines) or Metro Center (Red/Orange/Blue lines). Please go to the website for more information in terms of directions. Friday October 7th, from 5:45 PM - 9:00 PM, At Northern Virginia Training Center Be a buddy with a disabled individual for an afternoon on site party. Please fill out the ACTIVITY FORM by October 1, 2005. Only the first 15 members to confirm can attend this activity but we can set up additional dates if their is a greater interest. Thursday October 27th, Guest speaker: Matthew Christopher, career counselor of Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic. The discussion will be about pursuing a career in chiropractics, including a definition of of chiropractics, the benefits of pursuing a career in chiropractics, the job outlook, education requirements, and the cost of a chiropractic education. AED Members: Members will earn 1 point per donated food item and are encouraged to donate as many as desired, but will not receive more than 5 pts. Furthermore, those standing at the kiosk for one hour and accepting food donations will earn 5 points. Volunteers are needed for the kiosk position.
Lighthouse event in December has been cancelled, those that signed up prior to the event will receive points. No upcoming events for Fall 2005.
January 2006 AED's Medical School Tour event! NOTE: Members have already been selected based on their level of activity this semester! Mandatory meeting for all the attendees: December 20th, 2005 at 6 PM Johnson Center Information Desk. Please bring with you 100 dollars for a deposit. The refundable deposit amount has been increased due to the extension of the trip. For those who did not receive the last email, the deposit will be fully refunded to students shortly after the trip. We will also be filling out forms necessary before anyone can go to the trip. You may contact the AED Treasurer Mustafa Wali if you have any questions related to the deposit or the trip in general.
