Alpha Phi Omega - Alpha Delta Delta Chapter

Chapter History
The first informational meeting was held at George Mason University (GMU) was on January, 26th 1991. The petitioning group was recognized by GMU on February 17th, 1991 and formally recognized by the Alpha Phi Omega National Office on February 28th, 1991. The first petitioning ceremony was held at Georgetown University at the Section 84 Conference on March 19th, 1991. The first time the charter kit was sent to the National Office was June 1st, 1992 and it was rejected. While still a petitioning group, Alpha Delta Delta chapter had two pledge classes in order to educate the new petitioning members about Alpha Phi Omega and to ensure that a good pledging program was established to maintain the membership of the new chapter as it grew. The first pledge class was named in honor of Papa Joe Scanlon by the National Office in the fall of 1992. Our second pledge class was named in honor of Lee Correll by the chapter for his outstanding assistance during our petitioning process, The second charter kit was sent in on March 20th, 1993. We were chartered as Alpha Delta Delta on May 8th, 1993.
