Membership Requirements

 

There are four requirements that Pledges must meet to become eligible for membership.

 

1.         Cumulative GPA must be a minimum of 3.0.

 

2.         Major GPA must be a minimum of 3.0. To calculate a major GPA only use the classes listed below under Requirement 4. Do NOT use grades from any of the following classes: ACCT 203, ACCT 301, FNAN 301.

 

3.         To become a member, a pledge must participate in 20 hours of professional and service activities:  8 hours for professional activities, 8 hours for service activity, and 4 hours of participation from either category to reach the 20 hour total. Students are allowed to use 5 outside BAP hours each semester. Each academic year (Fall 20X1 - Spring 20X2) students are allowed to use only 5 outside professional hours and 5 outside volunteer hours. For example, a student who used 5 outside BAP professional hours for Fall 20X1 would not be allowed to use anymore outside  professoinal hours in the Spring, but would be allowed to use outside BAP volunteer hours.                                                                   

 

4.         COMPLETION of a major class is a requirement for membership. This is what establishes the Major GPA. Qualifying classes include:

 

ACCOUNTING MAJORS: ACCT 311, 331, 332, 351, 361, 461

            FINANCE MAJORS: FNAN 302, 311, 321, 351, 401, 411, 412, 421, 440, 451, 454, 462, 491

            ISOM MAJORS: MIS 302, 310, 320, 330, 411, 412, 430, 435, 440, 450, 491, 499
                                     OM 320, 352, 435, 452, 456, 499

If you meet all these requirements complete and submit the Member Initiation Approval Form to become a Member.
