Gerontology Graduate Certificate

Unit: Social Work 

The graduate certificate program in gerontology combines theoretical and applied course work in aging with the student’s graduate curriculum in any department. Because gerontology is by definition multidisciplinary, students are required to take course work outside their major field. The program is administered by CHHS and housed in the Department of Social Work.

Application Prequirements

Applicants must meet the admissions standards and application requirements specified in the Admission  chapter of the catalog and apply using the online Application for Graduate Admission. The application process is competitive, and applications are considered for the fall and spring semesters. Certificate Requirements


Candidates must earn 15 graduate credits with a minimum GPA of 3.00 in course work, and no more than 3 credits with a grade of C to earn the certificate.
