Environmental Moot Court Opportunity:The Stetson University College of Law (Florida) is holding an International Environmental Moot Court Competition in October 2005. For more information, see the letter and flyer posted on the third floor bulletin board Env. Law Society section.

The Environmental Law Society is dedicated to raising environmental awareness at the law school, stimulating thought and discussion over environmental law issues as they intersect with other areas of law, and providing a diverse range of opportunities for learning and networking for students interested in environmental issues. ELS does this in seven ways:

  1. By bringing speakers to the law school to discuss current topics in environmental law;
  2. By sponsoring an annual career panel discussion, and assisting students in locating summer jobs and internships;
  3. By entering a team in a national environmental moot court contest;
  4. By participating in a national environmental essay contest;
  5. By taking an active role in improving the quality of the local environment through activities such as cleaning up streams, planting trees, and participating in the Adopt-a-Highway program;
  6. By engaging in dialogue with other student groups; and
  7. By sponsoring social activities that are just plain fun!

We look forward to a great year, for which your participation is crucial. If you would like to join ELS or simply be on our email list, please notify Kim Graber at kgraber@gmu.edu or Libby Phelps at ephelps1@gmu.edu.

Watch for the ad for our next event in the Docket and in postings by the school elevators.
