The Financial Management Association International (FMA) was established in 1970 and has become the global leader in developing and disseminating knowledge about financial decision making. FMA's members include academicians and practitioners across the world. The FMA broadens the common interests between academics and practitioners, provides opportunities for professional interaction between and among academics, practitioners and students, promotes the development and understanding of basic and applied research and of sound financial practices, and enhances the quality of education in finance.

Our mission is to enhance the educational, social, and professional opportunities of all students with an interest in the field of finance.

We strive to offer our members social events, informative guest speakers and hands-on trips to better grasp the dynamic world of finance. We also introduce and emphasize the various career opportunities available to finance students upon graduation.

Our organization fosters networking through personal and online interaction, while increasing our awareness within the GMU finance department and the general student population.

Finally, we undertake opportunities that help build a solid reputation and character for both FMA and George Mason University.

The FMA, is always providing its Members with opportunities. From being an active member, to an elected officer, FMA provides each student the opportunity to gain valuable leadership, management, delegation, organization, administrative, and professional skills.
