Home Why Mason?
Through research collaboration and social support, the student culture at Mason is perhaps one of the greatest assets of our program - and certainly one of the most rewarding for our students.
Research Collaboration
Our students are regularly involved in co-authored research with other students. Multiple students will often work with faculty on large-scale projects, while it is also common to see students collaborate with each other on student-only projects. The goal:
learn from each other via collaboration, not competition!
Social Support
The Mason IO student culture is enhanced by long-lasting friendships and many social events with those in our program as well as other Psychology programs. Students often collaborate across psychology programs as a result of the great networking here at Mason. The Psychology graduate students also regularly field teams - and win championships - in Intramural Sports!

We welcome any prospective student to visit our campus and our program! To schedule a visit, please contact the IOPSA President, Joseph Luchman. For directions to campus, click on the Google Maps image above. To learn more about our Master's or Doctoral programs, contact:

Here at GMU, we are very proud of the accomplishments of both our faculty and students. The key to these accomplishments, in both academic and applied settings, is based in the quality and quantity of research produced by those in the program. Our program emphasizes dedication to hard work, collaboration, and innovation.

Our I/O program consists of six psychology faculty (Buffardi, Cortina, Kaplan, King, Tetrick, & Zaccaro), four closely aligned faculty from the Business School (Cramton, Klimoski, Kravitz, & Marks), and approximately 30 PhD students and 30 MA students at any given time.
