The Articles Editors look for topical articles through electronic databases, faculty web-sites, conferences, meetings, and other forums of presentation, review all articles submitted and make recommendations for prescreening the articles, assign the articles to members for more detailed review, and secure referees for the article.
The goal of the Articles Committee is to prescreen articles, provide article comments and decide whether to submit an article to a referee. The Articles editors and the Research Editors work closely to edit and prepare accepted articles before they move on to the Publications Editor. In addition, the Executive Editor will hold a seat on the Articles Committee and the Editor-in-Chief may opt in or out of holding a seat. Members may be a part of the Articles Committee if they are deemed qualified.
For an article to be submitted to a Referee, at least one more Articles Editor has to approve the article. The Articles Editors forward the article to Referees and follow-up on the Referee's decision and comments, communicate with the author, edit the article, and prepare it for spading.
