Intrinsic electrical properties of neurons and brain function
Present research suggests that the evolution of the nervous system
addressed both the specialization of individual electrical neuronal properties
as well as that of the circuits they weave. When these two variables are
considered conjointly the issue of sensory input as informing vs specifying
internal functional states become one of the central questions relating to
global CNS function.
