Big/Little Program: Seniors, remember how overwhelmed & confused you felt last fall? We want to try and make the transition into nursing school a little easier for the incoming juniors! The intention of the Big/Little program can be compared to how you would help out a friend that is in the program. We just want the Juniors to have a source who can offer advice about how to study, where to find great resources, or just to tell them, you will survive this!

* Littles, if you have not heard from your Big yet, please send us an email as soon as possible. Thank you! *

February

1st - all semester CALL to PROTECT: With the help of a knowledgeable Community Instructor, Dr. Douglas. The focus of this venture is to support CALL to PROTECT, which aims at combating domestic violence by simply donating old cell phones (functioning or not). All the proceeds (100%) are used in the attempt to end family violence. The phones get refurbished, sold to raise funds for the purchase of new, reliable phones with airtime and in turn distributed to domestic violence shelters nationwide. In past, The Wireless Foundation has given over $3 million to agencies leading the campaign to end domestic violence. Additionally, The CALL TO PROTECT program has kept over 200 tons of electronics out of landfills by recycling all donated obsolete or damaged phones. For more information you can visit: http://www.wirelessfoundation.org/CallToProtect/index.cfm

Our goal is to collect 50 phones, so as many of you may be replacing your old cell phone this Holiday Season, we are asking you to save your old cell phone or if you have a friend /family member with an old phone, please drop it off at the SNA office in Robinson A, room 372. We will have a collection box and will forward them to a central drop off location. All donations are tax deductible and you can print a Tax Receipt to reflect the value of the phone you have donated by visiting the following website: click here Prior to your donation please: Deactivate your phone service Erase personal information If you have photos you would like to save, forward them to your new phone.
