Welcome to the GeorgeMason University Orienteering Club!
What is orienteering about?
Orienteering is about taking a map with points marked on it and finding them one by one in the forest (usually).
The route is up to you and the pace is up to you.
If you want to compete, you should do it in the shortest possible time.
However, many people come just to exercise, and some simply walk enjoying fresh air
What's so special about orienteering?
Orienteering is much fun, because of several reasons:
First of all you are in nature, and this makes you feel good
Secondly, you are exercising both with your muscles and your mind - trying to find the next control
You get neither bored nor tired (well...), because you're trying to solve "the puzzle".
We encourage you to become a member!
You can even become an officer!
