Mikhail Bashakov is a very peculiar product of St. Petersburg's rainy weather. While his playing style is rock with a touch of folk, his songs are not sad or depressive. On the contrary, his usage of words "sun" and "light" is overwhelming. This is a man who simply enjoys life, a part of a dying breed. Bashakov's poems are published in the edition of "Poets of Russian Rock" (Victor Coi, Mikhal Naumenko, Mikhail Bashakov), publishing house "Azbuka", 2004. Also there is a book of Bashakov's poems "Medita", 2002 (2nd edition). Mikhail Bashakov has received the award of "Person of our city (St. Petersburg)" for his accomplishments in music. His songs ("Light day", "Ellis", "Don't Worry" and others )have been broadcast on many radio stations in Russia. Mikhail Bashakov has also appeared on TV. He has toured in many cities in Russia, and even USA, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, and Israel. His style is melodic Russian rock. ********************************************************************* Address: 1825 Phelps Place NW, Washington, DC Time: 7.00 pm Cover charge: - At the door: Regular admission $25; Students with ID $15 ($5 OFF at the door with this flyer http://www.russiandc.com/pictures/20080314_bashakov.jpg) - Online Pre-Sale: Regular admission $20; Students $10 (you can get the tickers at www.to4ka.com or www.troikaparty.com) There will be a bar with snacks and drinks. |
