What does UDRP do?
When you come to see UDRP, you can be sure that UDRP will...
- Provide a neutral and safe environment to talk
- Listen to concerns and complaints
- Help to identify problems, clarify perspectives and concerns, develop viable options and agreements
- Empower people to feel more comfortable with conflict
- Provide several constructive ways to approach problems and address differences
- Mediate conflicts with a neutral, certified mediator
- Assist groups who want to communicate more clearly and openly
- Offer trainings and workshops to develop effective communication skills
- Support students who are interested in academic credit for Internship or Experiential Learning
- Train volunteers who want to learn more about how to manage conflict, strengthen relationships, and build community here at GMU
When should I use UDRP?
You can contact UDRP for any of the following situations:
- You have a dispute with another student on campus - your roommate, friend, classmate, co-worker, supervisor, etc.
- Your research group or team project is frustrated by communication issues, scheduling conflicts, etc.
- Your group or organization needs help setting an agenda for a big project or event
- You want to learn more about resolving conflict
- You want to practice and/or develop your communication skills
