On April 30th, 1975, Saigon, the capital city of South Vietnam, fell to North Vietnamese forces. Most Vietnamese Americans will now recognize that day as Black April. Black April marks a dark day in Vietnamese American history where we honor and remember those who have sacrificed their lives and freedom for us. Today, many of these Vietnamese residents are dispersed around the world and continue to live their life of freedom.
