Sergeant Gil McAuliff (left) is presented a plaque by Assistant Chief George Ginovsky (right) for 17 years of service with George Mason University Police Department. Sgt. McAuliff retired from George Mason Police effective September 1, 2007.

Detective Thomas Bacigalupi at the request of the Unviersity of Redlands, in Redland, California gave a presentation on Controlling Alcohol Abuse through Rigorous Enforcement (CAARE) Program to the California ABC Board, as well as surrounding colleges and universities in the Los Angeles area.
George Mason University Police Officers brush up on their defensive tactics skills. Under new standards set by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), police officers are now required to complete refresher training in weaponless control holds every two years. June's class, the first to be held under the new guidelines, was given by the department's two defensive tactics instructors, Detective Patty Millan and Sergeant Thuan Ly.
Members of the George Mason University Police Department recently participated in the Santa Clara community "National Night Out" event. This Meet & Greet Block Party was the combined effort of the Fairfax City Police Department and local community Neighborhood Watch groups to "get to know" local police.
Two George Mason University Police Department officers graduated from the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Training Academy Program on June 22, 2007. Officers Amber Bennett (pictured left) and Emily Ross (pictured right) successfully completed their Basic Law Enforcement Training Course.
