Instructional Resource Center (IRC)
The Instructional Resource Center provides training in the use of work and instructionally related computer software programs and electronic equipment to Mason’s faculty and staff. Training can be provided in the Learning Support Services (LSS) training classroom, in faculty/staff offices, or in one of the smart or electronic classrooms. See Available Training
Learning Support Services (LSS) at PWC provides general technology training support to faculty, staff, students, and affiliates primarily through workshops held in the 8 seat training classroom on site. The LSS training classroom doubles as a walk-in computer lab available to faculty and staff on a drop-in or appointment basis. The classroom contains a high-end multimedia computer, Scanner w/slide scanner and OCR, CD / DVD-Rewritable Drive, and a selection of leading multimedia and web design software featuring: the full suite of Adobe/Macromedia software, MS Office 2003, Digital Imaging tools, and much more. A small library of tutorials, instructional guides, and other technology training resources are available.

Classroom Technology Orientations: Faculty training on the use of the electronic, smart, or video- conferencing classrooms.
Consultations: Individualized support for faculty and staff on work or instructionally related software such as PowerPoint, WebCT, Townhall, web accounts, survey tools, Weblogs, and other technologies.
Faculty can receive support for incorporating technology into their course material, such as:
- How to design/develop online instructional materials or websites
- How to use technology-based courseware in the classrooms
- How to do anything related to PowerPoint in the classroom or online
- How to choose and use emerging collaboration methods and tools in the classroom and online
