Fairy Tale Writing Competition


Prizes:
First prize--$100; Second prize--$50.

Runners up along with the winners will present their works in a Public Reading on April 20th, 1999, at 8:00p.m. at the GMU bookstore. The winning entries may also be published in The GMU Review.

Submission Guidelines:

  1. The competition is open to all students--graduate and undergraduate,full and parttime--currently enrolled at GMU.

  2. All works should be typewritten and double spaced. Please submit hard copy only; do not email or fax your submissions.

  3. Include a cover page with your name, street address, phone number, and email address. Tell us which of the Grimms' tales your piece reenvisions. (It must be a tale from the Grimm Bros.) Also indicate whether you are available to present your work at the public reading on April 20th, 1999, at 8 p.m.

  4. Your work may be any length, but very long pieces will need to be partially summarized at the April Reading.
