Misconduct in Research and Scholarship - The Basics

    • The goal of this exercise is to ensure that each faculty member that holds an NSF grant and the individuals working on their grant are familiar with Mason's policy on misconduct in research and scholarship. This exercise is also intended to be used for other faculty, students and staff on an "as needed" basis.

Human Subjects Training

    • All investigators (faculty, staff and students) are required to complete the CITI Program training in human subjects protection prior to conducting new research using human subjects and/or prior to annual renewal of ongoing research using human subjects. This training requirement is in compliance with a proposed Federal regulation requiring investigators to obtain training in human subjects protection and it will fulfill certain additional obligations for such training under Virginia law. This training requirement applies regardless of whether such research receives external funding, and it applies to all academic levels.
