| This session will provide an introduction to the world of grant writing and will cover such topics as finding a funding fit, basic elements of a grant proposal, how to produce a strong proposal, and grant budgeting. It will also provide tips on successful grant writing. The session is designed for those just entering the grant writing world and is open to any faculty member or graduate student. |

| Grant Writing Workshop |
This half day session, given by Ann McGuigan (Director, Office of Research Development) and Lise Schioler (an experienced grant project director and former program officer at the NSF and the US Air Force Department of Research), will provide instruction on how to write a grant proposal. It will include specifics on how to read and interpret a Request for Proposal and how to apply that information to your proposal. The session will also cover information on what grant reviewers and program officers look for in a proposal and advice on how to develop a strong proposal. |
