CTAAS Team Biographies

Akshay Belle is currently a M.Sc candidate in the Department of System Engineering and Operations Research, George Mason University. He is also a Research Assistant at the Center for Air Transportation Systems Research, George Mason University. His research interests include modeling and simulation applications in air transportation. He received his B.S in 2005 from Anna University, India. His e-mail address is abelle@gmu.edu.

Arlen Lippert is in the Operations Research Master's degree program at George Mason University. His concentration is Military Operations Research. Arlen has a Master's in Business Administration and Personnel Management from Webster University. St. Louis MO. and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The Citadel, Charleston S.C. Arlen is the Director of Operations for Xtria LLC, a division of Furmanite Corp. Arlen is a veteran with over 20 years of service with the U.S. Navy as a Naval Flight Officer. While in the Navy, Arlen complied over 2500 flight hours in fighter aircraft. He served in numerous squadrons, and staffs. He also attended Air War College and commanded Naval Air Reserve Activity Chicago. His e-mail address is alipper1@gmu.edu.

Najia Houssaini is is in the Systems Engineering Master's degree program at George Mason University. Her concentration is Systems Management. She is also pursuing simultaneously a certificate in Software Intensive Systems (SIS). Najia has an bachelor of science degree in mathematics from George Mason University. She has also been working at GMU as a Development and Community Outreach Coordinator for over 4 years. Najia previously worked for a technology and engineering company as an analyst. Her tasks included system testing, operations, planning, and requirement definitions. Najia is currently considering to continue her education with a PhD in systems engineering. LaTrent Burdette is currently a M.Sc candidate in the Department of System Engineering and Operations Research, George Mason University. He is also heads the Operations Research Group at TASA IT Group, Inc. He served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force as a mathematician. His interests include the application of operations research to the military and homeland security and decision analytics in the development of government regulations. He received his B.S in 1997 from the U.S. Air Force Academy in Mathematics and a J.D. in 2001 from the George Washington University Law School. His e-mail address is lburdett@gmu.edu.
