Analyzed and addressed problems associated with the existing DC Food Truck vending location assignment system

Problem Statement

DCRA has identified that food truck owners are dissatisfied because they do not believe the current, lottery based location assignments are fair.

The central issue: How do we define and measure fairness in this problem domain and develop a system that is superior to the existing one.

- Built and validated prototype

Compared existing and proposed system through simulation and data analysis

Quantitatively verified vendor perception about existing system

Verification results were satisfactory

Sponsor believes our results can be integrated into a new, functional assignment system in the near future
