Confidential Services: Consultation Technical assistance and consultation regarding issues surrounding the alcohol and drug behaviors of college students, and effective prevention practices are provided by the Substance Abuse Programs & Services Coordinator to students and their parents, faculty and staff, the surrounding community, the media, and various local, statewide, and national organizations. Consultation services are provided with regard to individual or community substance abuse problems. Confidential information is never shared unless a release form has been signed. As the official representative of George Mason University with regard to substance abuse and related issues, the Coordinator of Substance Abuse Programs & Services monitors the university's Drug and Alcohol Policy for compliance with federal and state policies pertaining to substance abuse. When policy revision is necessary, the Coordinator collaborates with other campus officials in this process. The Coordinator also provides technical assistance to individual departments who require assistance with the creation and/or revision of their drug and alcohol policies.
