AVAILABLE FOR 2007!

OIPS has once again obtained a license for the use of CINTAX, a
tax preparation software designed for certain foreign nationals
in preparation of their Federal Tax Return. The software is
similar to products such as Turbo Tax or Tax Cut in that tax
returns are prepared based on the answers to a series of
questions.

The license is to be used only by those in F-1 and J-1 status
who are here at George Mason University.
This e-mail includes links to two documents that contain basic
instructions for the usage of CINTAX and a third document that
includes information for those individuals with NO income who
must file the form 8843 with the IRS.

Please read these instructions slowly and carefully. Keep in
mind that OIPS staff cannot answer any questions you may have
regarding the use of the software. All questions should be
directed to CINTAX via email at support@cintax.us.

10.HUMAN RIGHTS FAIR WITH AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL

The importance of Human Rights often does not get enough
exposure in our society, even with all the horrific human rights
violations present in our world today.

This year, GMU's chapter of Amnesty International hopes to make
the value of human rights more prevalent on our campus by
putting together an International Human Rights Fair, an all day
event in April in the north plaza that illuminates severe human
rights problems from around the world and offers ways people can
help.

Amnesty International is currently in the midst of planning the
event, but would like input from students, faculty, and staff
who are concerned about human rights. They would really
appreciate any sort of feedback or suggestions you have to
offer. If you would like to be part of the planning and
co-sponsor the event, please come to the first planning meeting
on Feb. 6, at 7:30pm in the Jonson Center room 243. If you would
still like to be part of this event, but cannot make this
meeting, just email Erin Neff, eneff@gmu.edu.

P.S. If you are interested in learning more about human rights
or Amnesty International please come to their event, Human
Rights 101, on February 13th, 7:30pm SUB I Patriot's Lounge.

normal traffic volumes approaching campus and on campus and give
yourself plenty of extra time in transit. As a special alert, on
Wednesday January 23 at 8:00 pm, there is a Mason men's
basketball game vs. Old Dominion at the Patriot Center. As has
been done several times in the past with basketball game
traffic, Mason Police will be directing traffic where needed and
staff will be directing traffic into certain lots and parking
decks. If you are not coming to the basketball game on
Wednesday, but are coming to or leaving campus between 6:00 pm -
8:00 pm it is advised that you use Roberts Road or University
Drive to avoid the crunch of the basketball game traffic.
