STEP 1:
DECIDE TO QUIT SMOKING CIGARETTES!

The decision to quit smoking is probably the most important decision you will ever make for yourself and your health. Such a major decision should not be made on a whim but should be carefully considered and thought out. How many times have you told yourself that you were going to quit? Remember that stopping smoking is a positive act of taking control over your life! Start acting as if you can quit smoking, and you will soon believe that you can! Be confident and tell yourself that you can quit smoking. Say it to yourself over and over until you firmly believe it!

There are only 2 choices. You can either smoke or not smoke. Think about these choices and realize that you can choose to either continue to smoke, or you can choose not to smoke. Some reasons why people continue to smoke include: I need a cigarette to reduce my stress, I don't want to gain weight, I am nervous and irritable without cigarettes. These are just a few of the reasons people use to keep on smoking. Do you have any other reasons? Think about these reasons and find other ways to deal with them instead of smoking! Here are some reasons people choose to quit smoking: I want to save money, I am tired of not feeling well, I don't want my skin to age prematurely, my friends/partner doesn't like it. Do you have other reasons? Write them down and Choose not to smoke!
