Unit
Information Technology Council (ITC) evaluates and selects information technologies and systems needed to carry out the university's missions. The Vice President for Information Technology (VPIT) will make requests for evaluation of systems and selection recommendations. Although most requests will be for systems already approved in the budget for funding, a few requests may concern strategic planning and evaluation of systems under consideration for funding. The ITC will ordinarily commission pilot projects to enable assessment of whether a system will be useful and satisfactory to its customers before recommending a full scale deployment. The findings and recommendations of the ITC will be advisory to the VPIT.

Members of the ITC are chosen on the basis of their technical expertise, their ability to work collaboratively, and their willingness to learn from others, including outside experts that the ITC or the VPIT may invite to become involved in the work of the ITC. Members will receive staggered two year renewable appointments. Members are appointed by the VPIT upon recommendation of the University's Executive Council.
