Predicting the Next Katrina

At George Mason University, Guido Cervone and his students are using satelite microwave technology and buoy measurements to track potentially dangerous storms around the globe. By monitoring high-resolution, real-time data from NOAA satellites, this Mason team is able to predict more accurately where hurricanes will come aground and whether tropical storms will develop hurricane strength.
