Helping Women Reclaim their Lives
At 19, Mason graduate Zainab Salbi came to the United States from her native Iraq. While still a student she founded Women for Women International to help women suffering from postwar trauma and to educate the rest of the world about their plight. Since 1993, her organization has assisted more than 120,000 women in countries such as Rwanda (above), Bosnia, Kosovo, Afghanistan, Colombia, Iraq, and the Congo.
