Financial Aid Bulletins

  • December 15, 2021
    The Office of Admissions and the Office of Student Financial Aid will be closing for the winter break on Friday, December 17, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. ET, and will reopen on Monday, January 3, 2022 at 8:30 a.m. ET.
  • December 2, 2021
      The COVID-19 emergency relief for federal student loans ends Jan. 31, 2022 and monthly student loan payments will resume. Visit studentaid.gov to explore options for repayment.
  • November 22, 2021
    Please note George Mason University is closed for the Thanksgiving holiday from Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. ET until Monday, November 29, 2021 at 8:30 a.m. ET. We will respond to all questions and concerns when the University reopens on Monday, November 29, 2021.
  • October 28, 2021
    Our enrollment deposit site will be down on Friday, October 29th from 3:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. EST. During this time, you will not be able to submit a deposit to George Mason University.
  • October 18, 2021
    Beginning October 15, 2021, the Office of Student Financial Aid will be introducing a new process by which you submit your verification documents electronically. On this date, verification related paper forms will be removed from our website.

    George Mason University is disbursing millions of dollars in CARES Act funding to more than 14,000 eligible students this fall, with the latest funds to be awarded in early September.
  • August 20, 2021
    If you or your family have experienced a loss of income, you may request a recalculation of your financial aid eligibility. Please submit information to the Office of Student Financial Aid HERE.
  • August 18, 2021
    At the "enrollment freeze date", the Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA) will verify your enrollment.
  • July 28, 2021
    Lower prices for high-speed internet are available to eligible individuals. The benefit is a discount of up to $50/month, and a one-time discount of up to $100 for a qualifying device. The service provider will offer the discount to the customer.
  • July 22, 2021
    The U. S. Department of Education has new guidance regarding FAFSA verification requirements. Based on the recent guidance, please DO NOT SUBMIT any V1 Verification Documents or Tax Return information to us for the 21-22 aid year until further notice.
