The Reva and Sid Dewberry Family School of Music were pleased to host a symposium for scholars, performers, and educators on June 23-24 called: Performing Early Black American Music. This state-funded Virginia project was led by Mason music professor, Dr. Emily H. Green with Dr. Michael Nickens (George Mason University), Dr. Bonnie Gordon (University of Virginia), and Dr. Mary Caton Lingold (Virginia Commonwealth University).
