MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS

1Cumulative GPA must be a minimum of 3.0.

2Major GPA must be a minimum of 3.0. To calculate a major GPA only use the classes listed below under Requirement 4. Do NOT use grades from any of the following classes: ACCT 203, ACCT 303, FNAN 303.

3To become a member, a pledge must participate in 25 hours of professional and service activities: 10 hours for professional activities, 10 hours for service activity, and 5 hours of participation from either category.

Students are allowed to use 5 outside BAP hours each semester. Each academic year (Fall - Spring) students are allowed to use only 5 outside professional hours and 5 outside volunteer hours. For example, a student who used 5 outside BAP professional hours for Fall would not be allowed to use anymore outside professoinal hours in the Spring, but would be allowed to use outside BAP volunteer hours.

4COMPLETION of a major class is a requirement for membership. This is what establishes the Major GPA. Qualifying classes include:

ACCOUNTING MAJORS: ACCT 311, 330, 331, 332, 351, 361, 461

FINANCE MAJORS: FNAN 303, 311, 321, 351, 401, 411, 412, 421, 440, 451, 454, 462, 491

ISOM MAJORS: MIS 303, 310, 320, 330, 411, 412, 430, 435, 440, 450, 491, 499
OM 320, 352, 435, 452, 456, 499

All applications are chosen at the discretion of the Faculty Advisor. In order to be initiated as a member, please note that your application has to be approved by the Faculty Advisor after achieving Good Standing Status. As such, you cannot use Beta Alpha Psi on any resumes or documents until initiated as a member.
