CEIE 402 - Highway Design and Construction

Credits: 1.5 (NR)
This laboratory course provides a survey of the tools, techniques, and methods used by the various civil engineering off-campus at disciplines to design and construct highways. The course combines lectures, Individual readings, and hands-on exposure to the tools and processes used by planning, environment, project management, survey and mapping, preliminary design, geotechnical, pavements, hydraulics, bridge design, PS&E design, materials, and construction.

Prerequisite(s): Senior CEIE status.

Notes: Course meets off-campus at the federal Highway Administration Eastern Federal Lands Highway Division in Sterling, VA.
