CEIE 403 - Experimental Methods in Civil Engineering

Credits: 1.5 (NR)
This laboratory course surveys common testing and laboratory experimental methods that civil engineers encounter in their professional practice and in research settings. Students fabricate specimens of civil engineering materials and conduct experiments in the following laboratories at the Federal Highway Administration’s Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center: concrete and Steel Materials Lab, Structure Lab, Hydraulic Lab, Geotechnical Lab and Asphalt Lab.

Prerequisite(s): Senior CEIE status.

Notes: Course meets off-campus at the Federal Highway Administration’s Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center in McLean, VA.
