CEIE 633 - Foundation Design and Ground Improvement

Credits: 3 (NR)
Design of foundations for civil engineering structures, including settlement and bearing capacity. Foundation types to include shallow foundations, spread footings, mats, deep foundations (driven piles, bored piles and drilled shafts subjected to axial and lateral loading) - single and group action. Machine foundations for rotating equipment. Ground improvement including grouting, deep soil mixing, stone columns, special compaction techniques, lightweight fill; wick drains.

Prerequisite(s): Graduate Standing in CEIE;
