The minor in Health Information Technology introduces students, in a non-technical context, to the utilization of health information management in the professional arena of health care management and policy. Students will examine the current and projected role of health information management in the delivery of health care and development of health policy and apply this information in a practical research endeavor.

Minor Requirements
A minor in Health Information Technology requires a minimum of 18 credits, at least 12 of which must be applied only to the minor and cannot be used to fulfill the program of study requirements of the student’s major, concentration, undergraduate certificate, or another minor. Students should be familiar with university-wide requirements for minors described in the Undergraduate Policies section of Academic Policies . Required Courses (12 credits)
