Instructional Continuity

Mason offers face-to-face, hybrid online, and fully online courses for Spring 2022.

As the COVID-19 situation continues and changes, we've created strategies to maximize learning opportunities.

  • Within the last year, Mason has increased the infrastructure necessary to support online instruction and adapted courses to the digital format.
  • Instructional space on our campuses has been configured at 90 percent of original classroom seating capacities. Revised occupancy limits for instructional spaces are posted at each space.

Stearns Center Services

The Stearns Center for Teaching and Learning provides support and resources for Mason faculty. These resources will continue to evolve over the term. Sign up for a  monthly newsletter to get updates on available services.

Assistive Technology Initiative

Faculty and students can get direct assistive technology assessment, training, and support services to meet online and hybrid course accessibility standards.

Keeping Safety at the Forefront

Students must complete the Mason COVID Health Check daily. Faculty are encouraged to check the status of each student to verify they have a green status for the day.

Members of the community should keep a copy of their status email available, in case they're asked to show their COVID Health check status while on campus.

Everyone, regardless of vaccination status, must wear a face covering when inside a Mason property. If you need an accommodation:

  • Students should contact Disability Services at 703-993-2474.

  • Faculty, staff, and volunteers should contact Human Resources and Payroll to work with Employee Relations at 703-993-3878. Employees of contractors should work with their employer regarding accommodations.

The Dean of Students Office and the Student Support and Advocacy Center will work with students who require an adjustment or modification for non-medical reasons to include difficulty with required physical distancing within the classroom.
