GSOM 551 - Leadership

Credits: 3
Distinguishes between leadership and management, and focuses on the critical roles and functions of leadership, including communication ability, use of power and influence, providing direction, aligning an organization’s systems, motivating a workforce, and creating a culture for effectiveness. Also focuses on strategies for developing oneself as an effective leader. Integrates theory, research, and applications. Students apply principles of leadership and motivation to their own work situations and case evaluation.

Prerequisites
Graduate admission or permission of instructor.
