NUTR 520 - Introduction to Wine and Beer

Credits: 3 (NR)
Takes a multidisciplinary approach to understand beer, wine, and spirits across time and space. The student will learn the fundamentals of alcohol production as well as the social and cultural dimensions of alcohol. Topics include the effects of climate change on wine production, prohibition and neoprohibition, the health effects of alcohol and alcoholism, craft versus industrial production, among others.

Equivalent to GCH 520 (2010-2011 Catalog)

Notes: Will include off-campus field trips. Students must be 21 to enroll in the course.
