In an era of limited resources, rising health costs, eroding insurance coverage, and growing disparities in health care quality and access, this certificate provides students with analytic skills and knowledge necessary for evidence-based health policy planning, formulation, analysis, evaluation, and practice. Students will gain a working understanding of public policy processes, analysis and statistical methods, economics, health policy process/entities, strategic thinking, the politics of health policy-making, as well as public advocacy and communications skills. The certificate is ideal for clinicians and health care professionals who seek value-added career enhancement in health policy formulation, analysis and advocacy.
Admission Requirements
Applicants must meet the admission standards and application requirements specified in the Admissions section of the catalog and must apply using the online Application for Graduate Admission. The application process is competitive, and applications are considered for the fall and spring semesters.
