BINF 334 - Perl for Bioinformatics

Introduction into Perl programming language. Topics include data representation, control structures, file input/output, subroutines, regular expressions, debugging, relational databases. Emphasizes bioinformatics applications including DNA sequence analysis, parsing FAST A and GenBank files, processing BLAST output files, SQL or equivalent query language.

Prerequisite(s): Knowledge of programming language or CS 112 or equivalent.
