ENGL 325 - Dimensions of Writing and Literature

Credits: 6
Examines English as a discipline and develops interpretive skills for further study in the major. All sections cover issues such as form, genre, point of view, figurative language, conventions of close reading and literary interpretation, and how culture shapes texts.

Satisfies General Education Requirement: Synthesis requirement

Notes
Open to all students. Required of those majoring or minoring in English, who should take ENGL 325 before taking other 300- or 400-level literature courses, and who must obtain a minimum grade of C to satisfy degree requirements in English major or minor. Regular class meetings; weekly lectures, performances, or readings.
