Nursing Education Graduate Certificate

Unit: School of Nursing 

This program combines foundation courses in education with courses in the principles and practices of nursing education. It prepares students to function in nursing educational roles in academic and nonacademic settings.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must hold a master’s degree in nursing. Applicants must meet the admission standards and application requirements specified in the Admission  chapter of the catalog and apply using the online Application for Graduate Admission. The application process is competitive, and applications are considered for the fall and spring semesters. The graduate certificate in nursing education may be pursued only on a part-time basis.

Certificate Requirements


Candidates must have 15 graduate credits and a minimum GPA of 3.00 in course work, with no more than 3 credits with a grade of C to earn the certificate. Detailed requirements for graduate certificates are listed in the Graduate Policies  section of the catalog.

Notes:


Students who qualify for a 3-credit practicum because of their educational experience may choose the remaining 3 credits from courses designated by the graduate nursing program.
