Administration

James Goodlett McDaniel, Associate Provost for Distance Education

Distance education provides students with the opportunity to take the same classes offered on campus through different delivery methods. Many distance education courses may be completed at home, while stationed abroad, or when traveling.  Assignments, testing, and group work are conducted online and are designed to help you meet educational outcomes. Communication with the instructor and classmates is usually electronic via email or online discussion forums.

A list of degree programs and certificates that can be completed by taking the required courses fully online can be viewed on the Program page masononline.gmu.edu/programs/. If a program is not listed, this means that not all of the courses required to complete the program are offered in an online format.

To see a full list of online courses, visit MasonOnline’s Courses page.

Inquiries about distance education may be addressed to distance@gmu.edu.
