Student Education Association

The Student Education Association is the most important student organization on campus for future educators. We offer MEMBERSHIP in the National Education Association for greatly reduced dues. But you get all the same BENEFITS! The NEA sponsors SEA chapters all across the nation.

Like most clubs at GMU, the SEA is a campus recognized organization. We have two advisors from the Graduate School of Education. Also, there is an EXECUTIVE BOARD made up of SEA members who are responsible for maintaining the SEA at GMU.

Besides regular membership BENEFITS, there are other advantages to being an SEA member. One, you gain entrance into a professional organization within your profession before you even become a teacher. Plus, you'll be on the SEA mailing list. You will receive advanced notification of workshops and opportunities.

Also, The SEA is providing an important NETWORK on campus comprised of graduate students of The Graduate School of Education.

Another service, is The Green Acres Mentoring Program. Students from George Mason mentor elementary students at a local school- a rewarding opportunity of community service and real-life impact.

If you hope one day to be an educator, this is the club for you!
