Hospitality, Tourism and Events Management, BS (title change pending SCHEV approval)

Note: As of catalog publication in April, the title for the program described below (formerly known as Tourism and Events Management, BS) has been approved by the Board of Visitors and sent to the State Council of Higher Education in Virginia. This 120-credit degree program prepares students to enter diverse professions in hospitality management, tourism management, and events management. Courses and field experiences equip students with knowledge, skills, in managing visitor experiences for the benefit of the traveler, host, community and supporting industry. Graduates are employed in commercial, private, and public agencies, within a wide variety of geographic settings. A minor is available.
